Christmas is over…

Isn’t that nice. Now we have a full week of holidays left, and don’t have to stress about Christmas. Lovely.

Not that I didn’t enjoy Christmas, I loved our Christmas. Monkey was high as a kite, but still we managed to keep him from climbing walls, breaking things… My mum and Markov (her partner) arrived on time, mum brought half the food, we had a nice Christmas dinner, and had just finished it when there was a knock on the door and Santa arrived. He was young, but very good. Monkey loved him. Except the fact that he arrived with a car, not reindeer. A big mistake.

Monkey got a sledge, skies, cars, trucks, books, puzzles, DVDs, and more. Still the number of presents was smaller then last year, 21 in total. It’s plenty for a little boy. We had divided them up for two days, first set came on Christmas eve and Santa, the next on St. Stephan’s day at my dads.

We had planned to go to my dad’s on Christmas day, but the snow was so heavy that we decided to move it to the following day, and spent Christmas day testing out the new sledge.

And eating leftover Christmas food as well…

We also continued testing our new dishwasher. and it’s still prefect. I love it.

My favourite present came from husband and was

It was bought from this shop Called Store of Hope.

It’s amazing and some of the money goes straight to helping people in need.

So our Christmas was nice and we had a lovely time at my dad’s on St. Stephen’s day, but I’m still glad that it’s all over. Now we don’t have to think about Christmas dinner for almost a year! YAY!!! (yes, I eat way too much)

Other then that, there’s not much to report. Monkey’s fairly good the whole time, he might actually go overnight to my mum’s tomorrow, and that would give husband and me some alone time.

We had some good friends coming over for new years, but one of them is on call at work, so it will be just us three. The neighbours asked what our plans are, but we want Monkey to go to bed at normal time (or not long after), and their daughter is staying up until midnight. They are the same age, so it seems a bit unfair to “force” Monkey to notice it. We’ll see.

Notka is doing fine, she’s an angle when you think about how Monkey “plays” with her and she doesn’t mind. Sometimes when she’s had enough she’ll give a short growl and walk away. She also seems to get livelier and livelier everyday, and loves to play and rip things, only her toys so far. A funny little dog. Now as soon as she stops peeing every time husband tells her something, it will all be fine. =D

Had a really nice day yesterday…

It was snowing (again) a lot, so when we picked Monkey up from school, it was time to clear some snow… Husband cleared almost all of the snow, I was watching Monkey sliding down the little hill of snow we have outside… The laugh and joy that the little hill provided was amazing!

After 2 hours of playing outside, we came inside, started dinner, Monkey got his injection for the week, he didn’t like it, I didn’t like it, husband didn’t like it, but it had to be done, so there we are… It’s done, one week less to do…

Then it was time for dinner and a movie, as injections means movie night, we have a movie night ever Friday. =D

Started off with ‘a never ending story’, stopped it just before the boy sees his mother dead (we so don’t want to go there, mothers can’t die, they just can’t.) and swapped to ‘dog hotel’, it was about two kids that have lost their parents and are in foster care  and start a hotel for dogs that don’t have anywhere else to go… Right… Well Monkey just looked at the dogs and enjoyed the movie, I was crying my eyes out in several places (and monkey was in my lap telling me it will all be ok, no need to cry).

After the movie it was time for evening meal and bed. Read a long book and then Monkey went to bed… It all went very well!

Today we’re off to celebrate my friends baby been born and my friends birthday, should be fun! I promised to take my lights and camera with me, so they get a few photos of the baby and parents.

Tomorrow’s ice hockey, then we’re off to see my dad, and that’s about it for the weekend. It goes so fast doesn’t it… Well only one week to go, until Christmas holidays will start. Then we’ll have two weeks off, the whole family! And Notka, our dog should arrive home sometime next week…

And then it’s almost Easter and right after Easter Summer-teen is coming over for a week!!!!! Can’t wait! We might even go up North for a few days, a short little holiday!

And then it’s summer and Summer-teen is coming for 2 weeks in July! It’s a short trip, and I wish he could stay for longer, but as he’s coming during his Easter holidays we get to enjoy his company for 3 weeks this year… So it will be good!

But now Monkey wants my company, so I better go! =D
